Team corratec can go back from Austria with a positive feedback after the great team performance offered in the Gp Vorarlberg, which saw the riders directed by Francesco Frassi conquer a double top 10.
The protagonists of the day were Veljko Stojnic and Alexander Konychev, who attacked with 55 km to go and were part of a breakaway of 15 riders who quickly gained a gap over the rest of the group.
Once they entered the final circuit, which had to be repeated three times and included the tough Nenzing climb, the front riders began to attack and it was at the start of the penultimate lap that what looked like the decisive action started with a duo composed by Vermeulen and Primozic.
Stojnic tried to respond and got very close to the two attackers, but at the beginning of the last lap his action was stopped by the chasing group from which first Boros and then Schrettl attacked. Both joined the leaders before the final sprint, which saw Boros emerge victorious.
Stojnic finished in 6th place, 40 seconds behind the winner, followed by Konychev, 8th. A good result also for Stefano Gandin, 15th, who had tried to rejoin the leading group before entering the final circuit.
The next appointments will be tomorrow the Circuito del Porto and from Tuesday the Hellas Tour, before the Giro d’Italia that will start in six days.
