The Asolo-based company will be alongside the team directed by Serge Parsani starting with the Giro d’Italia

Montecatini Terme, 2 May 2023 – Big news at Team corratec which, four days before the start of the Giro d’Italia from the Costa dei Trabocchi, is changing its name to become Team corratec – Selle Italia.

The Asolo-based company, one of the most prestigious and well-known in world cycling thanks to its 120 years of history alongside champions such as Gimondi, Merckx, Moser, Hinault, Cipollini, Indurain, Pantani, Bettini, and Van der Poel, will become title sponsor of the Team directed by Serge Parsani and Francesco Frassi.

The partnership had already begun in 2022, when Selle Italia was one of the first companies to believe in the Team corratec project, despite the team competing in the Continental category. The commitment was strengthened even further with the move to UCI Pro Team and the invitation to world-class races such as Tirreno-Adriatico and Giro d’Italia.

For the Corsa Rosa the team will use the SLR Boost, Flite Boost, Novus Boost Evo saddles and the new SLR Boost 3D saddle. In addition, the Selle Italia logo will stand out in the centre of the new jersey designed by VeloPlus, which Team corratec – Selle Italia will inaugurate on 6 May with the first stage of the Corsa Rosa.

Serge Parsani, Team Manager of Team corratec – Selle Italia: “Our project, born with the desire to grow and promote the new recruits of Italian and international cycling, has had the support of big brands right from the start. One of these is Selle Italia, a company I’ve had the good fortune to work with since I was a rider. It’s great to see how this project is developing, and this agreement confirms its growth, in view of the commitment we’ll be facing starting on Saturday at the Giro d’Italia.”

Riccardo Bigolin, Vice-President of Selle Italia: “The sector sponsors in the most important teams are fewer and fewer, but the whole movement needs our support. The bike is the most beautiful vehicle by which we can spend time and cycling is a world that gives people the chance to dream. Also for this reason, we are particularly happy and proud to continue supporting ambitious projects like that of Team corratec.”
