GIRO D’ITALIA

The official selection for the Corsa Rosa of the team led by Serge Parsani, Francesco Frassi and Fabiana Luperini

Pescara, 4 May 2023 – Eight riders dreaming in Rosa. The first Giro d’Italia of Team corratec – Selle Italia will officially begin this evening in the setting of Piazza Salotto in Pescara, where the official presentation of the teams of the Corsa Rosa will take place, before the start on the 6th of May with the Costa dei Trabocchi Time Trial.

“When I think about where we started a year ago, it almost seems like a dream to be here. – says Team corratec  – Selle Italia manager Serge Parsani – We are a young team and perhaps we have suffered this inexperience in some occasions where we could have played our cards better. At the same time, we’ve worked hard to improve and present ourselves in the best possible way at this prestigious event, which will give a great spotlight to our riders and our sponsors. We are bringing seven out of eight debutants to the Corsa Rosa, and among them are two guys who were with us from day one, from that rainy day in Venezuela when it all started. Unfortunately we can’t count on Nicolas Tivani who was one of our leaders. Our goal is a stage win, and it will be an honour for me to share this adventure with Francesco Frassi, with whom I’ve been working in synergy for two years to bring Team corratec – Selle Italia to the top, and Fabiana Luperini, a great champion who will try to pass on her experience and her hunger for victories to these guys.”

THE RIDERS

After a difficult start to the season, he offered encouraging performances at Il Giro di Sicilia and the Giro della Città Metropolitana di Reggio Calabria.

Nicolas Dalla Valle, (25) – A sprinter on the rise. Five top 10s in the season (with the 3rd place at Circuto del Porto) and an excellent propensity for teamwork.

Veljko Stojnic, (24) – Also present in the original Team corratec – Selle Italia line-up, after some health problems at the start of the season, he is now finding a good condition. Able to hit the breakaways, he recently picked up a 6th place in Austria, which gives him morale given the elevation gain of the race.
